PRé Sustainability Explains LCA
Understanding the environmental impact of new technologies is essential for building a truly sustainable energy future. In a newly released video, REVEAL consortium partner PRé Sustainability explains how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) supports this goal within the REVEAL project.
LCA is a methodology used to evaluate the environmental footprint of a product or technology across its entire life cycle, from raw material extraction and production to use and end-of-life treatment. Within REVEAL, LCA plays a key role in assessing the sustainability performance of the project’s innovative aluminium-based energy storage concept.
The video provides a concise and accessible introduction to how PRé Sustainability contributes to the project by helping quantify environmental impacts and identify opportunities for improving sustainability throughout the value chain.
By integrating environmental assessment into technology development, REVEAL aims to ensure that future energy storage solutions are not only technically effective, but also aligned with Europe’s broader climate and circular economy objectives.
