REVEAL spin-off company, apricot 366, is developing a breakthrough solution for long-term renewable energy storage using aluminium as a dense, transportable energy vector. Unlike conventional batteries or pumped hydro, which only store energy for hours or days, aluminium enables storage from summer to winter and across long distances, without CO₂ emissions. This innovation provides the missing piece for a fully renewable energy system by delivering heat and electricity anytime, anywhere.
And now we are delighted to announce they have taken an important step in its development by establishing an Advisory Board composed of renowned experts in the clean energy sector. This new board will provide strategic guidance and valuable expertise as apricot 366 advances its mission: delivering compact, clean energy systems that use aluminium as an energy storage vector, enabling renewable heat and electricity production when and where it is needed.
The Advisory Board currently includes three members:
René Von Kaenel – Former CEO of Alcan Research and founder of Kan-Nak SA, René brings decades of experience in aluminium technologies and industrial innovation. His deep expertise will be invaluable as apricot 366 scales its solutions for the energy transition.
Renat Heuberger – A globally recognized pioneer in climate finance and sustainability, Renat co-founded myclimate and SouthPole. With over 20 years of leadership in building innovative solutions for a net-zero future, he contributes exceptional knowledge on scalable impact and startup innovation.
Philipp Egger – With extensive expertise in the energy and buildings sector, Philipp has a proven track record in driving innovation and sustainability. As the former head of Energieagentur St.Gallen and energy consultant for HEV Verwaltungs AG, his insights into customer needs and energy efficiency in buildings align perfectly with apricot 366’s market focus.
