CONSORTIUM MEETING in Reykjavík, Iceland

January 2026 (M42)

On 14–15 January 2026, the REVEAL consortium convened in Reykjavík, Iceland, for the M43 project meeting, hosted at IceTec and Arctus Aluminium. The meeting marked an important milestone as the project enters its final phase, focusing on consolidation of results, exploitation planning, and dissemination activities.

A dedicated WP2 workshop, led by Yvonne Bäuerle from OST, brought all partners together in interactive group sessions based on recent survey results. Through structured discussions, participants reviewed findings, identified opportunities for improvement, and jointly developed a SWOT analysis, which will directly inform future work package activities and exploitation planning.

Beyond the technical discussions, partners reviewed project progress, including key performance indicators (KPIs), which showed strong alignment with REVEAL’s objectives. Updates confirmed that scientific publications are on a very good track, with several papers currently being finalised. The consortium also confirmed participation in the ISEC Conference, alongside ongoing preparations for final reporting.

A key focus of the meeting was REVEAL’s commitment to open access, training, and outreach. All scientific publications, presentations, and public deliverables are continuously made available through REVEAL’s Zenodo community, which serves as a central hub for the project’s research outputs. If you have not explored it yet, we encourage you to browse the latest materials on Zenodo.

The Reykjavík meeting was a powerful reminder of what this consortium can achieve together. As we head into the final stretch, our focus is clear: delivering high-impact results that will cement REVEAL’s legacy in sustainable energy storage long after the project concludes.

On the second day, partners also took part in a dedicated workshop focused on aluminium-based energy storage solutions. Additional details, photos, and main highlights from this session will be accessible in the following weeks.

Training activities were also highlighted as a major success of the project. REVEAL training materials are now published online, supporting education and capacity building in aluminium-based energy storage. The project has actively involved students at different levels in research and development activities, strengthening knowledge transfer between academia and innovation. All training resources are available on our website.

In addition, the REVEAL final video was presented and discussed during the meeting. The video provides a concise, accessible overview of the project’s objectives, technologies, and impact and is now publicly available on YouTube. If you have not seen it yet, we invite you to watch and share it.
